Venerable GERMANO RUOPPOLO

Vincenzo Ruoppolo (in religious life, Germano di San Stanislao) was a professed priest of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ. He was a distinguished professor and writer of philosophical and theological texts and was greatly esteemed by Popes Leo XIII and St. Pius X, who entrusted him with the office of Apostolic Visitor in various Italian dioceses. His remains are found at the monastery-shrine of St. Gemma in Lucca, where they rest next to his most famous spiritual daughter, St. Gemma Galgani.

He was declared Venerable in 1995.
