Fulgenzio Elorza Legaristi (in religious life, Martín del Costado de Cristo) was a professed priest of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ. He was named the first Apostolic Prefect of Moyobamba (Peru) and then consecrated bishop.
Martin began his extensive daily work praying the rosary, then catechesis. He spent long days in the confessional, and celebrating marriages, Confirmations, meetings with the people, and the organization of the construction of churches and chapels. During his pastoral visits he exhorted the faithful to be not only coherent Christians, but also honest citizens and protagonists of their own future.
