Servant of God STANISLAO AMILCARE BATTISTELLI

Amilcare Battistelli (in religious life, Stanislao of the Holy Spirit) was a professed priest of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ.

He was consecrated bishop of the Italian diocese of Sovana and Pitigliano. He performed social works, created new parishes, restored the cathedral and the episcopal center, and he can justly be called the new founder of the diocesan seminary for which he tirelessly worked. He lived poorly, humbly, and simply. He was easily accessible to people who, in turn, loved him.

The clergy experienced in him a caring and attentive father. The civil authorities found him to be a respectful interlocutor worthy of the utmost trust.

The diocesan inquiry ended in 2000.
