Today the 47th General Chapter of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ has re-elected Father Joachim Rego CP as Superior General. Father Joachim was born in Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar on 16 August, 1954. He was professed on 17 January, 1976 and ordained to the priesthood on 28 November 1981. He belongs to the Holy Spirit Province, Australia-Papua New Guinea.
We ask for your prayers that he may be inspired by the Holy Spirit for the fulfillment of this task which has been entrusted to him. We also pray that the worldwide Passionist Family may find in his re-election reason to continue united in the love of Christ, as revealed in the Cross.
