Venerable LORENZO MARCELLI

Egidio Marcelli (in religious life, Lorenzo of the Holy Spirit) was a professed religious Brother of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ. For 51 years he carried out the mission of mendicant in various retreats of his religious Province.

He was a missionary in Brazil, where he was a member of the community of the first Passionist retreat that was founded in that country. After eight years, he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and was therefore forced to return to Italy. There he resumed his mission of mendicant in the city of Nettuno where he died of a heart attack in 1953.

He was declared Venerable in 2016.
