Servant of God MARTA VANDENPUTTE

Marta Vandenputte (in religious life, Marta of Jesus Crucified) was the Foundress of the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Cross, which on 28 September 1968 became amalgamated into the Congregation of the Passionist Sisters of St. Paul of the Cross.

The life of Mary Martha is characterized by a missionary spirit. After a flourishing spring of vocations, there was a period of a long dark night that threatened the survival of the work.

Nothing disturbed the spirit of Martha, who abandoned herself to God’s will, attentive to the voice and requirements of the Crucified One who took her to the heights of truest love.

The diocesan inquiry ended in 2013.
