Servant of God MARIA MADDALENA FRESCOBALDI CAPPONI

Maria Maddalena Frescobaldi Capponi was the Foundress of the Passionist Sisters of St. Paul of the Cross.

She was a lay woman, wife and mother who was able to combine her social and family commitments with those related to the foundation of a community where ex-prostitutes and young people from good families could share life in the spirit of the One whose mercy saved them.

It was a prophetic project placed at the service of the Church that testified to the possibility of living and proclaiming solidarity without barriers and prejudices of race and culture.

The diocesan inquiry ended in 2011.
