Carmela Tarantino (in religious life, Carmelina of the Cross) was a professed religious of the Passionist Sisters of St. Paul of the Cross.
Although confined to a hospital in Toronto (Canada), she managed to fulfill her dream– to become a Religious. From her bed, which had become her pulpit, she began to attract many people who were inspired by her faith, her joy of life, and her love for Jesus. Her mission was bringing joy and serenity to many people who were lost and disheartened.
In 2009, in Toronto, the diocesan Inquiry for her beatification began.
