On 3 May 2026, the Fifth Sunday of Easter, the Passionist Mission «Nossa Senhora dos Pobres» (Mozambique),
of the Gethsemane Province, experienced a moment of faith, joy and enthusiasm:
the installation of Fr. Daniel Agostinho, CP, as pastor, and Fr. Antunes Mário Taibo, CP,
as second vicar of the parish of Saint Augustine, in the diocese of Pemba.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Bishop Juliasse, diocesan bishop of Pemba.
The Passionists have been present in Mozambique since 2002,
and the community of Pemba — the only one in the country — was established on 25 May 2008,
under the name of Saint Paul of the Cross.
At present, the Gethsemane Province counts,
among Mozambican nationals: 5 priests, 5 professed religious and 1 novice.
