This experience allowed us to recognize God’s grace at work in our lives. We professed our perpetual vows on December 21, 2025, at the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in New York, in the presence of Fr. James O’Shea, CP, who was then our Provincial. That day will remain forever engraved in our hearts as a moment of grace and thanksgiving.
As the first Haitians to take our perpetual vows in the Eastern Province of Saint Paul of the Cross, we felt supported by the entire Congregation on this joyful day. This beautiful celebration was marked by the presence and support of many confreres, as well as the various communities with whom we have worked and collaborated during these years of formation.
For us, the profession of our perpetual vows constitutes a commitment, a relationship, and a responsibility toward God and His Church, which bind us even closer to those who are crucified today. We know that when God calls, it is never against others, but always for others. Far from being a personal achievement, these vows are above all our response to love and a sign of gratitude to God, who associates us with His plan of salvation.
As followers of St. Paul of the Cross, we desire to make the Passion of Christ the center of our lives and our mission. By contemplating Jesus crucified, we learn to recognize His face in all those who suffer today and to proclaim that the Cross is, above all, the revelation of the greatest love.
St. Paul of the Cross reminds us that « the Passion of Jesus Christ is the greatest and most wonderful work of divine love », and he urges us to ensure that « the memory of the Passion of Jesus Christ is always engraved in our hearts ».
We take Mary as our Mother and our teacher, so that she may help us to remain in the wonder of her Magnificat and to open our hearts so that no one is excluded. We also entrust ourselves to the Holy Spirit, who dwells in our prayer, sustains our weakness, and makes us ever more like Christ, who was poor, chaste, and obedient.
In a spirit of deep gratitude, we give thanks to the Lord for the gift of our vocation, for our Passionist family, and for all those who have accompanied us on this journey. May Saint Paul of the Cross intercede for us, that we may remain faithful to our consecration and that the Passion of Jesus Christ may always be engraved in our hearts.
