Venerable EGIDIO MALACARNE

Severino Malacarne (in religious life, Egidio Giuseppe dei Sacri Cuori) was a professed priest of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ.

He possessed a “sharp, agile, informed and subtle mind”. He dedicated himself to teaching literature, philosophy, theology and preaching. During the First World War he served in the health department Bologna, working as a nurse and stretcher bearer. He served as Postulator General for about 30 years.

He was declared Venerable in 1999.
