Last Sunday, the first day of the month of March, the novice Armindo Baltazar professed religious vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience and the vow to keep alive the Memory of the Passion of the Lord. Armindo is from Mozambique, from the province of Cabo Delgado and is the third Mozambican to profess religious vows as a Passionist in the Province of Calvary. Profession ceremony took place at 9:00 am in the parish of St. Paul of the Cross (Calvary Church) in Pinheiros-San Pablo.
The Mass was presided over by Mons. Luis Fernando Lisboa, CP, Passionist Bishop of the Diocese of Pemba, capital of Cabo Delgado, while Fr. Amilton Manoel da Silva, CP, Provincial Superior of the Province of Calvary received the vows.The Mass was concelebrated by other Passionist religious and Armindo was received with great joy by the parish community and many others who came from Osasco (SP), Belo Horizonte (MG) and Ponta Grossa (PR).
The closing ceremony was marked by the delicious food offered by the Parish of St. Paul of the Cross.
The newly-professed will be part of the Theologate Community of the Configuration of Jesus Crucified in Belo Horizonte, where he will begin his studies of theology.
