On Sunday 20 October 2013, at 4 PM hour, the priestly ordination of Passionist Deacon Tiago Miguel Pinto Veloso took place in the Passionist Church of Santa Maria da Feira, through the imposition of hands of Bishop João Lavrador, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Poto.

    Fr. Tiago Veloso was born in Carregal do Sal, Diocese of Viseu, on 09.01.1987.  He joined the Passionist Congregation and made his postulancy from 2005 to 2007 in Linda-a – Velha, his novitiate in Zuera (Spain) in 2007-2008 and religious profession in September 2008 in Barroselas (Portugal).  He studied philosophy and theology at the Catholic University of Lisbon and Braga.  He is currently specializing in Canon law at the Pontifical University of Salamanca.

    The priestly ordination of Tiago was cause for great joy. There were a large number faithful, priests and religious present from many parts of the country and even abroad, filling the church of about 900 places, including more than 120 friends and peers who came from his native town in buses and private cars. The celebration was beautiful and joyful.  The religious community provided refreshments for nearly 200 guests, including the ordaining bishop.

    On Sunday, Oct. 27 Fr. Tiago presided at the Eucharist in his native town of Carregal, where there was also a great turnout of faithful and friends, his family and also the Passionist religious family.
