PASSIONIST PRESENCE IN MYANMAR
On behalf of the PASPAC Configuration, the Superior General, Fr. Joachim Rego, has formalised a contract with the Bishop of Pathein, Myanmar to establish a Passionist residence in his diocese. The Passionists were invited to Pathein by the bishop in order that our charism may enrich the Church there and that our religious might be a spiritual resource for the clergy, religious and lay faithful of the Diocese.
This month the first missionaries arrived in Myanmar to begin the Passionist mission– Frs. Paul Hata (MAIAP), Sony Marsilin Kannakaikal (THOM), and Peo Alon (REPAC). Initially the community will be under the jurisdiction of the Superior General.
