Passionist Nuns from around the world hold their General Assembly

From September 19 to October 5, 2015 the Passionist nuns from around the world are gathering in the Passionist General House for their General Assembly. The theme of the Assembly is “Renewed by the Paschal Mystery we bear fruits of new Life.”
This Assembly is called for by the Holy See and it has appointed Sr. Fernanda Barbiero, SMSD as the Delegate General. She is assisted by Fr. Floriano De Fabiis, CP, the Procurator General.
Most Rev. Fr. Joachim Rego, CP, Superior General of the Passionists will preside over the opening Mass on the first day. The nuns will then begin their three-day spiritual retreat following which they will enter into the Assembly proper. The second part of the Assembly will be held at the Shrine of St. Gabriel of our Lady of Sorrows in Isola del Gran Sasso, Abruzzo. On the last day, October 5 Very Rev. Fr. Luigi Vaninetti, Provincial Superior of the MAPRAES (Italy, France and Portugal) will preside over the final Mass.
The General Assembly will be graced also by the presence of the members of the Vatican Dicastery for Consecrated Life. On September 24, Archbishop José Rodríguez Carballo, OFM (Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life) will address the Assembly. And on September 26, João Cardinal Braz de Aviz (Prefect of Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life) will preside over the Holy Mass and will have a dialogue with the whole assembly.
