New choir organ for the Chapel of St. Paul of the Cross
20 October 2017, in the presence of the Superior General, Fr. Joachim Rego, and members of the local community, the Rector of the Basilica of Sts. John and Paul, Fr. Augusto Matrullo, blessed the new choir organ that was recently installed in the Chapel of St. Paul of the Cross. This choir organ, i.e. a pipe organ designed for accompanying singing, consists of 300 pipes and was originally installed in this chapel ca. 1970 (by the organ builder Tamburini). Due to extensive deterioration, the organ was entirely rebuilt by the organ builder, Mr. Salvatore Pronestì. Although originally located in the choir loft above the chapel, the new organ is now situated on the ground level of the chapel.
