Ministry of Acolyte in Retreat of Sts. John ad Paul
On December 9, the day which marks the memory for all the Congregation of the Bl. Bernardo Maria Silvestrelli, the Passionist Interprovincial Theology Students community experienced a moment of joy with the entire community present at Sts. John and Paul’s in Rome. Confrers Antonio Parrino, Francesco Pagliaroli and Michael Messi received the ministry of Acolyte, conferred by the Superior of the house, Fr. Matteo Nonini, who, during the celebration of the Community Mass, highlighted the importance of the ministry of Acolyte as one of the stages that was closer to the day of the priesthood and, urged the new acolytes love towards the Eucharist, taking example from the life of Bl. Bernardo, who celebrated the Mass devoutly every day. He also recalled that the Passionist must be united to the Eucharist, because it is the Sacrifice par excellence, that reenacts perpetually in a bloodless manner, what the Lord suffered on the cross. After the celebration the whole community found itself together for a moment of conviviality, to wish the young religious every blessing to continue on the journey with the grace of God and his will.
